I got inspired to write this song while listening to the only awful performance I have ever seen at the Bluebird Cafe. On his fourth monotonous song in a row, this guy sang "There are days when I need Jesus", and I thought "if he does not finish that by saying 'and days that I need Gin' I am going to scream". I didn't scream, but I did get a good line. One Of Those Days Copyright 2001 Damon Henrichs There are days that I need Jesus And days that I need gin There are mornings when I wake up And I don’t know which sort of day I’m in
There are days that I see heaven Looking up from my own hell There are days I almost call you. . . but I don’t I guess it’s just as well
This is one of those days Just one of those days Seems like every day Is just one of those days There were days that I was tempted And days that I gave in There were days of morning afters And the one that made it end
There are days when I imagine I don’t love you anymore I heard time’s supposed to heal me But each day seems worse than the one before. . . Oh Lord. . . Chorus I know that some day everything will be just fine But now it seems like every day is spent Just marking out the time. . . Chorus |
