Damon Henrichs has been playing and writing music since junior High School. He learned how to play the piano and the viola while participating in a couple of really lousy High School bands (probably not any worse than any other High School band though. . . ). He and his buddies would write really stupid songs making fun of even dumber songs that were popular on the radio at the time (the late 80's. . . enough said ). In college, he started learning how to play the guitar, and tried his hand at writing songs a little more seriously, mainly inspired by a really lousy breakup . . . which was almost entirely his fault. Like most songs written at really low points, they really sucked. If you play him a song from them he will deny knowing what you are talking about. Through the years he played keyboards and rhythm guitar in various bands with interesting names like "Black Tie and Flannel", "Passion Peal" (yechhh. . . Passion Peal?), and "Mister Ed" which he fronted. Most of these bands were pop/alternative in style, which was at odds with his natural country style of writing. When his daughter was born he started writing exclusively country and folk songs, starting with Goodnight Moon. He also hooked up with some fantastic musicians that eventually led to his participation in "The Bottom Line." By traveling to Nashville and developing contacts Damon has slowly cultivated his writing career. While currently unpublished, he keeps writing and pushing his music in Nashville in hopes of his first single song contract, and eventually a full publishing deal.
